Spray Paint Drawings 2011
Film stills from Coppola’s Apocalypse Now, and Herzog and Mernau’s versions of Nosferatu, (the source material for Redux and Shadow of the Vampyre) were used as stencils and repeatedly sprayed over with black paint. The spray paint allowed me to approximate the luminosity and graininess of film.
